Warhammer 40,000 Eternal Crusade - Chaos Space Marines 360

[1]"Legions of the Dark Gods

From the depths of the Warp, the traitor Chaos Space Marine Legions emerge to wage war against the Imperium. Slaves to darkness, they seek to bring down the Imperium of Man and destroy all they once swore to protect.

The Black Legion is the largest and most powerful of the Traitor Legions, and the Iron Warriors are siege masters of the highest caliber. The Word Bearers are fanatical zealots of the dark gods, while the cruel Night Lords strike from the shadows, using fear as a weapon in a campaign of terror against their enemies.

While it is in the nature of the various Legions of Chaos to be duplicitous and self-serving, when they put aside their internecine struggles and combine their strength, the galaxy quakes."

The Black Legion , the Iron Warriors, the Word Bearers, the Night Lords, and the Alpha Legion will be the Warbands joining this war.[2]

Player ClassesEdit

The following classes have been confirmed to be available at launch in the game, their descriptions are based off of their tabletop descriptions. It is expected that these classes will fulfill similar roles in the fields of battle of Eternal Crusade.

Chaos Space Marine: [3] Chaos Space Marines have the same strengths and skills as loyal Space Marines, to which are added the power of Chaos and a brutal devotion to the Chaos Gods. These super-warriors know that there can be no peace for them, no forgiveness nor absolution. They are wholly committed to the path they now tread, for good or ill. (Source)

Havoc: [4] Some Chaos Space Marine squads carry a high proportion of heavy weapons to lay down supporting fire for their brethren. Known as Havocs, these squads provide devastating anti-infantry and anti-armour firepower and dominate large swathes of the battlefield with their merciless volleys of fire. (Source)

Raptor: [5] The cruel terror troops known as Raptors consider themselves the elite of the Chaos Space Marine warbands. Their murder squads epitomise what has become the Assault Marines of the Traitor Legions. (Source)

Aspiring Sorcerer: [6] A Space Marine Librarian opens his mind to whole new paths of dark magical power, when the corrupting power of Chaos courses through his veins. With his soul given over to the Gods of Chaos the Sorcerer gains access to psychic powers more powerful than he could ever dream about. (Source)

Traitor Assault: These traitors are believed to be remnants of the non jump-pack equipped assault companies of the Legions.

Hero & Elite ClassesEdit

The following classes have been confirmed to be available at launch in the game, their descriptions are based off of their tabletop descriptions. It is expected that these classes will fulfill similar roles in the fields of battle of Eternal Crusade.

Terminator: [7] Many Veteran Chaos Space Marines enter battle wearing the revered and rightly feared Tactical Dreadnought Armour, or Terminator armour as it is more commonly known. A Terminator can move and operate with remarkable freedom and agility considering the sheer mass of the actual armour, which provides as much protection an an armoured tank hull. (Source)

The Fallen: [8] The Fallen are renegade Space Marines that split off from the Dark Angels Space Marine Legion ten thousand years ago and has since been scattered across space and time by the Gods of Chaos. To those Fallen that dwell within the 41st Millennium, many have become Chaos Space Marines, others pirate and renegade warlords, while some have since regretted their heresy and live a life of peaceful seclusion. Possessed: [9] For some Chaos Space Marines, simply dedicating their souls to the gods is not enough. Pledging themselves fully to the service of Chaos, they allow daemons to possess their bodies, becoming willing hosts to these immaterial creatures. Such possession is usually agonising, as the daemons writhe within their new physical form, changing it to better suit their needs. (Source )

Rogue Trader Class VariationsEdit

The Rogue Trader store offers variations of existing Elite and Hero classes with exclusive variations to their appearance, and to a limited extent, their functionality.

Fallen Captain: [10] The existence of the Fallen is a terrible, heretical truth that the Dark Angels Chapter is willing to do almost anything to keep secret. Some believe the Fallen to be Dark Angels that have fallen to Chaos, either remnants of those who turned against the Dark Angels’ Primarch during the Horus Heresy, or in the ten-thousand years since, while others believe the Fallen are not Chaos pawns at all, but rather are continuing an agenda that simply runs counter to that of their brethren. Whatever the case, the Fallen are a deadly enemy of the Imperium who have been known to fight alongside the minions of Chaos to further their own, shadowy goals. Most hated of them all are the Fallen Captains, ancient and deadly warriors that harbour secrets that would see the Dark Angels Chapter torn asunder.

Possessed [11] (final name TBD): For some Chaos Space Marines, simply dedicating their souls to the gods is not enough. Pledging themselves fully to the service of Chaos, they allow daemons to possess their bodies, becoming willing hosts to these immaterial creatures. Such possession is usually agonising, as the daemons writhe within their new physical form, changing it to better suit their needs.

Vehicles & TransportationEdit

The following vehicles have been confirmed to be available at launch in the game, descriptions are based off of their tabletop descriptions. It is expected that these vehicle will fulfill similar roles in the fields of battle of Eternal Crusade. [12] It has been confirmed that all vehicles with wheels, tracks, or that hover found in the tabletop will find their way into Eternal Crusade (so no flyers), but the following are the ones that have been confirmed directly or mentioned by the developers.

Chaos Bike with Heavy Bolter: [13] Somewhere between a Space Marine Attack Bike and an Ork Warbuggy, the Chaos Bike with Heavy Bolter allows highly portable heavy fire to dart around the battlefield skirmishing and retreating with devastating impact.

Chaos Rhino: [14] Over the Millennia the Chaos Marines have made many modifications to their Rhinos. They have added extra weapons and spiked rams. (Source)

Chaos Predator: [15] The Predators of the Chaos Legions are a legacy of pre-Heresy times. But now daemonic maws adorn every gun barrel and dark icons cover every surface. (Source).

Chaos Land Raider: [16] The mighty Land Raider is without doubt the most powerful battle tank ever built. When the Chaos Legions fled into the Eye of Terror they took with them hundreds of these precious machines. Now, whenever the Legions issue forth another Black Crusade these same Land Raiders are ever in the vanguard, proving their power even after 10,000 years. (Source).
